Welcome to the official website for the Allegheny Society of Foresters.

If you are a natural resource professional or student pursuing a career in Natural Resource Management we invite you to learn of all the benefits of becoming a Society of American Foresters (SAF) member. A few important benefits include membership in both national SAF and local chapters, SAF Legislative actions working for us both nationally and locally with constant policy updates provided by email or on the national website; regional and national journals with current science & technology; a strong network of traditional and non-traditional partners working together on common goals; and a national convention and regional meetings that provide a means to keep up-to-date on natural resource policy and science and technology and to share your ideas and interact with your fellow natural resource professionals and [conservationists].

If you are a past member we can not overemphasize the analogy that the SAF is like the natural resources we tend a dynamic organization constantly growing and changing to meet our members' needs some of which were listed previously.

"A Working Forest: Its Future with Fire, People, and Wildlife" Film Has New Website

Allegheny SAF members attending the 2010 Winter meeting in West Virginia witnessed the debut of the new documentary film produced by Allegheny SAF member Bob Williams, CF and featuring legendary musician and tree farmer Chuck Levell. Calendar of Events

Each of the state divisions has an individual webpage established where you can see a list of current leaders and events. Some will have a calendar associated with their webpage which you might find useful.
