Society of American Foresters
Welcome to the official website for the Allegheny Society of Foresters.
If you are a natural resource professional or student pursuing a career in Natural Resource Management we invite you to learn of all the benefits of becoming a Society of American Foresters (SAF) member. A few important benefits include membership in both national SAF and local chapters, SAF Legislative actions working for us both nationally and locally with constant policy updates provided by email or on the national website; regional and national journals with current science & technology; a strong network of traditional and non-traditional partners working together on common goals; and a national convention and regional meetings that provide a means to keep up-to-date on natural resource policy and science and technology and to share your ideas and interact with your fellow natural resource professionals and [conservationists].
If you are a past member we can not overemphasize the analogy that the SAF is like the natural resources we tend -- a dynamic organization constantly growing and changing to meet our members' needs some of which were listed previously.
We would be glad to provide you with information about the benefits of a membership in the SAF. If you would like to learn more about the SAF go to the SAF national website and if you are interested in a SAF membership please contact one of the current Allegheny leadership or go the SAF Membership webpage. We think you will find SAF enjoyable, a worthwhile investment, and learning experience.
NEW WEBSITE ::
The new Allegheny Society of American Foresters website is live. Go here to give it a look. It has a clean, fresh look and will serve our members well for years to come. The web address is temporary until we can get the URL switched over to the new server. Until then, both websites will be maintained, but most of the new content will be going to the new website. While the new website is functional, there are still some holes that will need to be filled. If you notice any things that are broken or suggestions to make it more functional, please let me know.
