The Allegheny SAF has a membership of 1,100 professional foresters in the five states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. 

Since 1900, the Society of American Foresters has provided access to information and networking opportunities to prepare members for the challenges and the changes that face natural resource professionals.

Agroforestry is the intentional integration of trees into crop and livestock systems. Agroforestry can help agriculture address a range of social, ecological, and economic problems in the northeast, enhancing its benefits while minimizing its challenges.  A draft agenda is attached.

This training will provide a brief review of agroforestry, and opportunities for participants to explore agroforestry applications in depth with regional experts.

REGISTRATION

Registration for this three-day training is $80.

Scholarships for training registration fees are available on a limited application basis. Please download and fill out this form to apply for the scholarship. Travel and lodging are not covered by this scholarship

LOCATION

This training will take place at the Penn State Fruit Research Center (FREC) in Adams County, home to 20,000 acres of orchards and the Gettysburg battlefield. Get directions here.
