The Allegheny SAF has a membership of 1,100 professional foresters in the five states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Since 1900, the Society of American Foresters has provided access to information and networking opportunities to prepare members for the challenges and the changes that face natural resource professionals.
The Allegheny SAF Summer Training 2021 will be hosted by The Maryland - Delaware Chapter, August 25-27, 2021 at Rocky Gap State Park near Flintstone, MD. More information is coming soon.

The Western Gateway Chapter will be hosting the Allegheny Division Annual Summer Meeting on August 21 - 23, 2019. The theme is “Restoring Scarred Landscapes and Preserving a Hallow Site”.

Accommodations are available to stay on campus in 2 bedroom dorm suites with a full kitchen: $140/night, tax included, each bedroom has either 2 twin beds or one king bed, they will match up people in suites if desired. Theme: “SILVAH: 50 Years of Practicing Sustainable Forestry and Counting”
Location: 45 Holiday Inn Road, Park Inn, Clarion, PA
On Wednesday, September 20, there will be an optional field tour to Kane Experimental Forest and surrounding landscape. Topics will include: SILVAH guidelines for regeneration, vegetation management, thinning, current research on deer impact, changes in regeneration ecology, forest health, fertilization, wildlife habitat, and carbon sequestration. (Bus transportation and box lunch will be provided as part of the Optional Wednesday Field Tour. Space may be limited. Register early.)

The Allegheny Society of American Foresters Annual Summer Meeting Program will be held at The Westin, Mount Laurel, NJ on September 14 -16, 2016. The theme is entitled “Forest Management for Productivity and Resilience”. 6.0 Category 1 and 1.0 Category 2 SAF CFE Credits will be available.
The Allegheny SAF 2015 summer conference (see agenda) was held at Lake Raystown Resort in Entriken, PA on September 16-18, 2015. The theme was Forestry in the Land of Rothrock – Conservation Challenges Past and Present. The summer conference is typically a blend of field tours and conference presentations. This sessions field tour focused on the Army Corps of Engineers work surrounding Raystown Lake and PA State Game Lands.
